In jQuery 1.2.4a on Safari 2.0.4 Mac hide()-method of jQuery seems to be completely broken.

Should be same issue as #2802 which is likely to be solved since [5609]. Please reopen if it's still broken.

Please follow the  bug reporting guidlines and use  jsFiddle when providing test cases and demonstrations instead of pasting the code in the ticket.
