serializeArray fails with fieldsets in IE

Description
using serializeArray on a fieldset (rather than a form) on IE 7+ returns an empty Array. works fine on other browsers.

<input name="name" type="text" /> <fieldset id="f">
<input name="surname" type="text" />

</form>
$("#myForm").serializeArray() -> ok $("#f").seriazieArray() -> [] = an empty array
