I spoke with Dave about his Splitter last week by email, and he does not have a mac. If I understood him correctly, I don't think he can provide a near-term fix for the issues with Safari or Konqueror, and he admits it might not be useful until they can be. I would jump at this if I were a better programmer. If someone has a mac, and can help solve this, I will help in any way I can.
