api.jquery.com and scrollTop

Description

When switching from another browser window to the one that has api.jquery.com open, it scrolls to top.

This is very frustrating, as there is generally a reason I have scrolled from the top to begin with.

Okay, a little more narrowing information.

I'm using Safari 5 (Mac).

It scrolls to top under the following circumstances:

  • It is not the only tab open in the given window.
  • It is not in a tab that has been dragged from a window where it was the only tab.

In Google Chrome, it scrolls to top even it if is the only tab open in a window.

I can confirm that this is an issue with Safari and Chrome on the Mac. I believe it may have to do with navi.js which is what provides the ability to use keyboard navigation to navigate around the API.

I don't currently have the access needed to fix, but will leave open in case someone that does can fix this bug.

This issue should now be addressed in the site refresh work that's been ongoing across the project, but is presently still there in the current version.

Having brought this ticket to the attention of the front-end team in the past, I don't think fixes beyond the next version of the site are going to be applied unless considered absolutely critical.

Please feel free to re-open if needed.
