Scripts not evaluating in ajax-fetched HTML in Chrome

Description
After retrieving an HTML page and injecting it into the DOM, I have typeface.js referenced in the HTML to evaluate and replace the fonts. The code evaluates in Firefox 3.0.X, but not in Chrome or IE 7.
Please attach a simple test case.
