I can't select option tag in IE

Description
I can't select option tag in IE.other selector work correctly but i don't why in my page why jquery can't select option tag.
<select class="new">
<option class="opt" value"1">1</option>
<option class="opt" value"2">2</option>
<option class="opt" value"3">3</option>
</select>
code:
$(".new option").click
even i try below code and jquery can't select option tag.
$(".opt").click
But exactly this code correctly run in other page.
