Description
$.ajax('url', {type: 'POST'}) allways fires a GET request.
the only way to fire a POST i found in using $.post('url', ...), but here i could not set the contentType to 'application/json' as needed.
Workaround: $.ajaxSettings({contentType: 'application/json; charset=UTF-8'}); $.post('url', data, ...);
tested on Chrome and Firefox jQuery Versions 1.4.2 and 1.7.2
regards Martin
