#10440 closed bug (invalid)

.width() and .outerWidth()

I have found that if I call these and ask about a <div> element with other <div> elements it seems to get rid of all the text visibly. I have tried many different ways around this, and it seems quite consistant in IE9(not in compa mode). I have searched for a work around and cannot find it.

I think I found some more info, I have the test project at http://jsfiddle.net/uak8P/1/ it seems it has to do with Lists, I have 2 lists on the page, and I do a 'li:first-child' and as soon as I remove the other list from the page it works fine. Hope this helps find the issue.

Because we get so many tickets, we often need to return them to the initial reporter for more information. If you still are interested in pursuing this issue, feel free to add a comment with the requested information and we will be happy to reopen the ticket if it is still valid. Thanks!
