#6159 cantfix "change" events misbehavior with <select multiple="multiple"> and ie6 vasya.pupkinbekov

I have found a problem with <select multiple="multiple"> and .change() under ie6. The problem is ie6 fires first change event right after any other event, like selecting again, clicking mouse, pressing a key etc. It is perfectly seen on http://api.jquery.com/change/. Just click any option in demo, nothing will happen.

If i put a handler using plain DOM, i.e. $("select").get(0).onchange = function() { ... } the problem dissapears. So, it's definitely a bug with jquery.

#2035 wontfix "clean" RegExp fails in Safari 412 ajpotts

This line

elem = elem.replace(/(<(\w+)[^>]*?)\/>/g, function(all, front, tag){...

will fail in Safari 2.0 build 412 (and presumably before). Safari doesn't see the end of the regex at all, and so pretty much everything goes wrong.

Quick fix:

elem = elem.replace(new RegExp("(<(\w+)[^>]*?)\/>"), function(all, front, tag){ ...

Obviously early Safari has a problem with parsing RegExps in the /.../g style, but I haven't found any other problems yet.

#2251 duplicate "could not set the selected property" error in IE when manipulating SELECTs dalangalma

Internet Explorer (6, at least), seems to have serious trouble manipulating SELECTS, especially setting the selected property. If I use jQuery to add options to an empty select and then set the selected value, I get the "could not set the selected property" error, which core-dumps IE.
