  $("a").each(function(){
    var rel = $(this).attr("rel");
    if(rel=="Some String"){
      /* if the rel attribute doesn't exists, it's causing an error */
    } 
  });
});

Thanks for submitting a ticket to the jQuery Project!. I've recreated your test case here: http://jsfiddle.net/addyosmani/VeAVb/, but haven't been able to reproduce the issue you're experiencing. Could you confirm which browser/version/platform you're seeing it on?

Because we get so many tickets, we often need to return them to the initial reporter for more information.
