You are correct, but this has been fixed in the latest version of jQuery:

If another ticket was open for this, then this ticket is a duplicate, but I could not find one. I may have fixed this without a ticket.

Please follow the  bug reporting guidlines and use  jsFiddle when providing test cases and demonstrations instead of pasting the code in the ticket.
