jQuery UI Resizable is broken by 1.6.1

I recently upgraded from 1.5.0 to 1.6.1 and everything works fine except for resizing. Did the jQuery 1.6 team test any sites using the resizable plug-in? No javascript error was logged by browser when trying to resize, the edge just simply wouldn't move.

This behavior exists in Opera, Firefox, and Chrome on multiple operating systems. I could not find a browser where it still worked.

Switching from including the 1.5.0 to the 1.6.1 release is all that is needed to cause the problem. Switching back restores the functionality.

Please follow the  bug reporting guidlines and use  jsFiddle when providing test cases and demonstrations instead of pasting the code in the ticket.
