background sliding hover effect not working

Description

I have a menu which has a hover effect that works like something sliding at the background, but once i link my code to jquery 1.5 it doesnt work, immediately i remove the jquery code it starts working again. what can i do?

Please ask for help on forum.jquery.com. If it turns out to be a jQuery core bug, file a new bug report with a test case that you put up at jsFiddle.com.

Please follow the  bug reporting guidlines and use  jsFiddle when providing test cases and demonstrations instead of pasting the code in the ticket.
