select a dom elment which append using $.append

Description

when i inserts some specified content as the last child of a element. and then i failed to use the id selecter to get the dom which i append just now.

for example:

<div id="parent"></div>

$('#parent').append('<div id="child">child</div>); the length of $('#child') is 0.

Thank you for your time and interest in helping the jQuery project, but we require a working testcase on jsfiddle that demonstrates the issue failing in order to audit the problem.

In this case, I made a test case that shows that the behaviour you described is not actually happening,

Unless you can produce a testcase that shows the behaviour you are describing, we cannot proceed any further. Thanks.

Because we get so many tickets, we often need to return them to the initial reporter for more information.
