recursion error with 1.4.2

Description

I have a recursive function which replaces a div when a link is clicked. My function works great with 1.3.2 but 1.4.2 makes the function go into a loop that executes as many times as a div was clicked

Please follow the  bug reporting guidlines and use  jsFiddle when providing test cases and demonstrations instead of pasting the code in the ticket.
