Regression in .data() module caused by commit e7912805

Description

Although the following commit passes event.js unit test, it breaks data.js unit tests on the way.

Tested in Firefox 3.6

Please follow the  bug reporting guidlines and use  jsFiddle when providing test cases and demonstrations instead of pasting the code in the ticket.
