Safari 1.3.2 click event not returning false

Description

Safari 1.3.2 on OSX 10.3.9 using older version of jquery (but have tested with 1.1.3.1 with same result) does not return false on the click event defined.

Offending URL:  http://secure.heritageonline.com.au/ Offending JS:  http://secure.heritageonline.com.au/media/javascript/jquery.heritage.js on line 66

Also was tested when removing all other javascripts and just leaving a return false statement on the click function and still did not work.

In some cases the return false works the first time it is clicked but fails after that. In some cases it doesn't work the first time at all.

  • Status changed from new to closed
  • Version changed from 1.1.3 to 1.2
  • Resolution set to wontfix
  • Milestone changed from 1.1.4 to 1.2.1

We no longer support Safari 1.3, unfortunately, so we'll just have to let this one go. Sorry!

Please follow the  bug reporting guidlines and use  jsFiddle when providing test cases and demonstrations instead of pasting the code in the ticket.
