Ajax syncronous requests do not work in Firefox (with Firebug disabled)

I tried to make a syncronous ajax request and it doesn't work in Firefox when Firebug is disabled. Otherwise, it works.

That sounds like an issue with Firebug - synchronous requests appear to work fine.

Please follow the  bug reporting guidlines and use  jsFiddle when providing test cases and demonstrations instead of pasting the code in the ticket.
