hi,
I noticed that the scroll bar are missing in mac safari 6. any ideas on how to fix it?

So, if you're on Lion or Mountain Lion, those are gone because Apple decided that you don't need scroll bars

Go to your Mac's system preferences .. in General you have the choice to add keep your scroll bars always on .. just click & problem solved
