Description

Description

When searching jQuery.com if the search term you entered wasn't found, the following text is shown:

For more information about searching jQuery JavaScript Library, see Searching jQuery JavaScript Library.

The text "Searching jQuery JavaScript Library" links to a page that contains a single word, "click".

Steps to reproduce

  • Visit jquery.com
  • Click the "Documentation" navigation link
  • Type "Offset" in the "Search jQuery" field
  • When no results are returned, click the "Searching jQuery JavaScript Library" link to get more help

Expected result

I would be taken to a page explaining why the help system didn't find the word Offset. It might even tell me why the category offset page at  http://api.jquery.com/category/offset/ was not found, even when enabling the "Category" checkbox in the "Search in namespaces" section and pressing "Search".

Actual result

I am taken to a single page, at URL  http://docs.jquery.com/jQuery_JavaScript_Library:Searching, which shows just one word: "click".

Additional information

To add to the irony of the situation, clicking the word "click" does nothing.

P.S. apologies if this is not the right place to submit bugs with the jQuery website.

Reading the "Are you in the right place" guidelines that are shown when clicking "New ticket", a process of elimination ruled out the bug trackers for jQuery UI, jQuery plugins, and jQuery mobile, and I could see no other obvious links to a "jQuery website" bug tracker.

Yes, this is the right place for web site issues. Thank you.

Inicdentally, once at the page showing just the word "click" ( http://docs.jquery.com/jQuery_JavaScript_Library:Searching), clicking the "What links here" link in the left navigation takes me to a page that tells me:

"No pages link to jQuery JavaScript Library:Searching"

This is obviously incorrect, as the search results page clearly links to it.

Weird, eh?

  • Status changed from open to closed
  • Resolution set to wontfix

Thanks for contributing! The entire current docs.jquery.com is going away soon, and with this bug, and therefore it won't be fixed.

Please follow the  bug reporting guidlines and use  jsFiddle when providing test cases and demonstrations instead of pasting the code in the ticket.
