don't work in jquery 1.6.2, but $(document) can... $(window).keydown(function(event){
if(event.keyCode==$.ui.keyCode.ENTER){
alert(0);
}

Please follow the bug reporting guidlines and use jsFiddle when providing test cases and demonstrations instead of pasting the code in the ticket.

If document works across all browsers then that is what we would recommend. The W3C Events Level 2 spec did not indicate that events should bubble from document to window, although some browsers did that.
Can you confirm that document works everywhere?
