click() on a checkbox still doesn't appear checked(or unchecked) before the handlers call

Description
in windows 7 using FF 5.0 & IE 8.0 a $(checkbox).click() still calls all the handlers before changing status. this doesn't correctly simulate the 'mouse click' call sequence. can you confirm? if wrong, I apologize. Many thanks.

Because we get so many tickets, we often need to return them to the initial reporter for more information. Please follow the bug reporting guidlines and use jsFiddle when providing test cases and demonstrations instead of pasting the code in the ticket.
ie: var checkbox = ...; $(checkbox).click (function () {alert((checkbox.checked)?"true":"false");}); $(checkbox).click(); if i'm right this should alert "false" with the checkbox still unchecked, then check it.
